Art House Dallas holds the belief that beauty recognized through arts and culture holds a powerful ability to infuse and preserve hope within society as well as help establish a person's place in the world. In a world without the arts as an esteemed value, individuals lose the ability to imagine greater possibilities and exist with a diminished view of what is possible because of what they have experienced.
Through our Deploy program, Art House Dallas works with community partners to create and distribute art kits and workshops to kids who have limited or no access to arts resources. Each kit will include materials, project prompts, instruction from local artists, and direction for learning and skill development.
Here’s How You Can Help
In light of the pandemic and not being able to deploy artists into the community, the goal in 2020 was to invite kids to interact with the arts, offer resources that encourage discovering their creative voice, and give them an outlet to process their life experiences right in their homes. Each art kit contained 3 separate activities for visual art, writing, and music as well as TEKS guided curriculum and all required materials, prompts, and corresponding artist videos posted on AHD’s platform. This year, Art House Dallas is working with each partner organization to create hybrid deployments to best serve each community and neighborhood both in person as well as virtually.
We want to invite you, your kids, or your entire family to get involved and join us as we give arts opportunities to kids and families without access to resources.
